The forbidden tree…

It is  the forbidden tree that produces the  forbidden fruit. There is a proverb that says; ‘Eggs are eggs, but some are rotten’. In the same manner, Fruits are fruits but some are rotten. No one absolutely would want to eat rotten eggs or fruits. Otherwise, one suffers some ailments  as a result. Most ailments you know, could be so nasty. In other therefore to avoid any  of such disgusting circumstances, it would have been better to avoid such intake in the first place.  In the event of such circumstance, the subject in question becomes forbidden. One may want to ask therefore; which fruits are forbidden and which ones are not ? There is wisdom in trying to ascertain this .

Who declared which  fruits forbidden?  Permit me to mention here that the fruit in question may just as well be symbolical rather than not . An act or so to say.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat;

Gen 2 : 16

The above is an indication that the Creator is supreme over HIS creations. He knows better when it comes to what is good for His creations and what is not good for them. He gave us a very wider range of what is good for us.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou  shall not eat of it;

Gen 2 : 17a

Man had more trees  to eat from in that lost garden that they wouldn’t have even thought of any other one. Just one more tree can  be the cause of too big a trouble. As long as man did not taste of that tree, he remained innocent. Everything worked well  in the time of innocence. That means the desired state of God for man was a state of  innocence. As long as man ate of the TREES, all was well with his household and  habitations. It also shows that eating of the God desired trees, is the only thing that could make man God-friendly.

But the truth remains that :

The thief cometh not but  for to steal, and  to kill and to destroy;  I am come that they  might have life and that they might have it  more abundantly

Jn. 10 : 10.

…And if any man will come after me, let him  deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me

Mtt. 16 : 24

And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are thou?

Gen. 3 : 9

The above is evident of the fact that there was fellowship as usual. But because something had gone wrong, Adam and Eve  had  backslidden from the fellowship with God. What was it that happened?

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

Gen. 3 : 10

Nakedness here means outside the confinement of God’s free zone. Man has left the state of innocence to a state of GUILT. Even when he he was hiding,  he was actually exposed in totality. It was just a singular act of disobedient that brought about this nakedness otherwise referred to as death!

…for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Gen. 2 ; 17b

That tree was forbidden, it sheltered the knowledge of good and evil that can bring about nakedness. God told Adam and Eve the truth. As long as Adam and Eve believed the truth, it worked out peace by constant

fellowship with God. It would have continued to time indefinite. But Satan on his part only had to suggest a lie to man. Satan had no authority whatsoever to force man to disobey God. Man chose to disobey God.  Man rejected God’s truth and swallowed Satan’s  bait that God is a liar rather than the other way round.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die;

Gen. 3 : 4.

How many are still in the camp of GUILT and still remain in it today even now that the merciful God has devised a reconciliation plan to bring man back to lost glory?  In the guise of religion wealth, fame, glamour etc, they continue to believe Satan’s lie rather  that our faithful God is a liar.  The salvation that comes through Christ Jesus the only hope for mankind , they continue to reject.
